| Ring of Fantasy was co-composed in the woods of Surrey by myself and pianist Steve Plews At the time we both lived in a world of fantasy and loved books like the Lord of the Rings. We were both stunned though when we began writing the song and the lyric began with the “first band of fairies circled ‘round in a ring”. We continued with fantasy lyrics when the fairytale of synchronicity really started to spin a ring of truth. Upon opening an anthology of poems for inspiration appeared before me the title ”Ring of Fairies” where a fantasy of Fay was one of the lines. This was the first confirmation of being on the right track when unexpectedly a knock on the door was heard and there was a man selling paintings of fairies in a ring. You may think this is all in the fantasy of her mind, however, to my astonishment, the house where we wrote the song was identical to the one in the painting we bought from him. | ||
